An eye for detail.
A passion for story.
Storytelling has always been my driving force, whether dreaming up fairytales in elementary school, penning magazine articles as a journalist or writing (and rewriting) one of my six traditionally published novels. Like anything practiced over and over, at a certain point it becomes second-nature. I’ve come to see everything around me as a series of beginnings, middles and ends. It’s this knack for spotting a good story, combined with rigorous training as a wordsmith, that allows me to uncover the unique hook of every one of my client’s projects and help them bring it to life on the page.
I am a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where I studied journalism and English literature. I’m the author of six novels, which have been published in more than a dozen countries worldwide. My work includes several young adult novels, including Love and Other Train Wrecks (which received starred reviews from Kirkus and Library Journal) and The Romantics (which garnered praise from Teen Vogue, Bustle and more). My first thriller, All the Broken People, has been noted as a most anticipated book in Marie Claire, Rolling Stone, SheReads and more. I am currently at work on my second thriller.
As a journalist, I have written and edited for Elle Decor, Metropolitan Home, The Fiscal Times, Bookish, Parenting, Marie Claire and many more outlets.
I live in Brooklyn and Saugerties, NY, with my husband, our daughter and our dog.
